While I'd love 4.4.3 to be the last release in the 4.X series, I  
suspect there would be at least 1 and probably 2 releases after it.

How many more PHP 4 releases are you expecting? Surely 4.4.3 should

last? (Baring any serious security flaws) IMO bug fixes should be  
reserved
for PHP 5.x releases only.
