There are a few open bug reports about crashes during shutdown when specific extensions are loaded. After some digging I found that this is related to tsrm_shutdown(). This function is called for the CLI version but has been commented out for the CGI version. Removing it from the CLI version as well seams to fix the problem but that might cause other problems.
