I'm also trying to Build php5ts using the VC6 Build Tools as recommended in the file README.WIN32-BUILD-SYSTEM because I seem to be getting absolutely nowhere using the GUI. When I open the Tools Command Prompt, there's no buildconf.bat. So I ran buildconf.js and came up with the following Window:
