Yes, it is, although the generated code compiles fine with 4.x, too.

What good is it to me if I can't install a working copy on my platform under PHP4.
Now since this appears to be a separate stand-alone package installed by pear, why couldn't it be installed and functional, seems that files are missing and this is why it doesn't appear to function?
I could never understand the logic behind an installer attempting to install something that wont work (in this case because of PHP5) and leaving a partial package install.
pear thinks that PECL_Gen is installed and up to date yet it's non functional and incomplete, some really nice checking going on I see, another reason that people don't like software installed by pear unless there is absolutely no other alternative.
So now that it's partially installed, how do I remove it or complete the install if it will function under PHP4?
