That was discussed more than a year ago. And IIRC, the idea was to
have to .tar.bz2 or the source: one with libxml2 bundled and one
without. Just like shipping your Java software(*) with the JRE and
without for those with a recent enough JRE installed on their system.

I'm very pro bundling libxml2 for the average user that doesn't know
the implication of upgrading libxml2 on his/her system.
