When the voted syntax is technically infeasible due to parser issues which can only be resolved by another RFC, albeit a sensible one, I would say this is indeed a terrible choice. I personally prefer <<...>> but I can accept Rust's syntax more easily than @@ which seems to come from a preconception that it will transition to @ many moons in the future which is completely bonkers.
