How about making sure there are no other basic issues like this
outstanding first?  If you are going to be the release master here it is
actually your job to prod the right people and make sure they are ready as
opposed to relying on folks to pipe up if they aren't ready.

I don't think this kind of email is called for.
I don't know what you call a basic issue but besides the studlyCaps issue there are no other "basic" issues. They are all bug fixes.
I don't remember anyone else noticing this issue. Again, we can leave things the way they are but we are having a discussion now if we want to do so or not. Looking back at PHP's history I think the inconsistencies we have carried from the days of PHP/FI are something which shouldn't be repeated. Then again, I won't die if we leave things the way they are.
