Concerning ssize_t - that isn't a type defined anywhere in the C standard libary, so you have to typedef it by yourself. Alternatively, you could include <windows.h> and typedef SSIZE_T ssize_t;

Don't know what this is about, worked until recently and I haven't changed my build environment since (at least not that I remember).
