You can safely ignore those warnings, which may be caused by differences of the prototype between libiconv and glibc.
libiconv: Automatically adjusted according to the libc's counterpart by configure. extern size_t iconv (iconv_t cd, @ICONV_CONST@ char* * inbuf, size_t *inbytesleft, char* * outbuf, size_t *outbytesleft); If the detection fails, @ICONV_CONST@ defaults to "const". glibc: extern size_t iconv (iconv_t __cd, char **__restrict __inbuf, size_t *__restrict __inbytesleft, char **__restrict __outbuf, size_t *__restrict __outbytesleft); It's also possible to add an extra check for the proto as mutt does.
