The sockets extension is still marked experimental, and users are starting to ask more and more questions about wanting to use it but are wondering about its status.
It's been a while since I looked at it, but is it still considered experimental? Are there known instabilities or lacks which should be taken care of before we remove the experimental designation? Or should we just tell the users 'yup--use at your own risk'?
