Thanks for the tip. I’ve tried this in the past without success.

But today I have tried something new. I have added:

QMAKE_APPLE_DEVICE_ARCHS = x86_64 arm64
CONFIG += simulator_and_device

To the .pro file.

And today, along with your tipo I can now see the simulators as run 
destinations.
