Okay I've put d-i-n on + Ickle's FDI patch, and things are fairly good. The only thing I'm left seeing now is this procedure;
a) boot with no VGA plugged in, and log into X/GNOME b) hotplug VGA c) try and suspend, it never reaches suspend. If I have the VGA plugged in at boot I can suspend at least up to 5 times in a row.
