Greetings!

This morning we posted a new version of
draft-karstens-intarea-multicast-application-port<https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-karstens-intarea-multicast-application-port/>.
This was discussed at IETF 121 under the name
draft-karstens-pim-multicast-application-ports. Changes since that meeting
include:

  * Only requesting reservation of a single port (49149), instead of two
  * Considers both Any-Source Multicast and Source-Specific Multicast
  * Changed strategy for non-conformant host compatibility by requiring all
platforms to set SO_REUSEADDR/PORT, which will make it more likely that code
written for conformant hosts will also work with non-conformant hosts
  * Discussed local eavesdropping concern in Security Considerations section

Thanks,

Nate Karstens
