GNU Libtasn1 is a standalone library written in C for manipulating ASN.1 objects including DER/BER encoding/decoding. GNU Libtasn1 is used by GnuTLS to handle X.509 structures and by GNU Shishi to handle Kerberos V5 structures.
This release includes new functionality to allow parsing of simple types without the overhead of the full decoder. In addition, it adds support for several new ASN.1 string types. * Noteworthy changes in release 3.1 (released 2012-11-24) [stable] - Completed rename of types: ASN1_ARRAY_TYPE -> asn1_static_node (was asn1_static_node_t) - Added new types: VisibleString, NumericString, IA5String, TeletexString, PrintableString, UniversalString, BMPString, UTF8String.
