We are pleased to announce the availability of GnuTLS version 1.2.7, OpenCDK version 0.5.8 and Libtasn1 0.2.17!
GnuTLS is a modern C library that implement the standard network security protocol Transport Layer Security (TLS), for use by network applications. OpenCDK and Libtasn1 are libraries used by GnuTLS for OpenPGP packet parsing and ASN.1 handling. The OpenCDK and Libtasn1 libraries are included in GnuTLS, so you do not need to install them separately. Noteworthy changes since version 1.2.6: - The GNUTLS and GNUTLS-EXTRA libraries are now built with versioned symbols. - Certtool now complains when reading out-of-range X.509 serial numbers, suggested by Fran <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. - Certtool now uses the readline library (when available) when reading X.509 serial numbers. - Fixed build problems in getpass on uClibc and Mingw32 platforms. - Fixed compile warning regarding socklen_t on Mingw32, reported by Martin Lambers <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. - Fixed examples in doc/examples/, suggested by Fran <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. - Gnulib is now used for the core library, enabling future code cleanups. - The gnutls-cli tool now use gnutls_certificate_verify_peers2, suggested by Daniel Stenberg <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. - Doc fixes for gnutls_transport_set_push and gnutls_transport_set_pull. - Minilibtasn1 is now 0.2.17 (removed optional use of C99 macros). - Disable zlib support if zlib.h is not present. - A number of internal cleanups. Improving GnuTLS is costly, but you can help! We are looking for organizations that find GnuTLS useful and wish to contribute back. You can contribute by reporting bugs, improve the software, or donate money or equipment. Commercial support contracts for GnuTLS are available, and they help finance continued maintenance. Simon Josefsson Datakonsult, a Stockholm based privately held company, is currently funding GnuTLS maintenance. We are always looking for interesting development projects. If you need help to use GnuTLS, or want to help others, you are invited to join our help-gnutls mailing list, see: <http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/help-gnutls>.
