I am pleased to announce the release of GNU ddrescue 1.0.
GNU ddrescue is a data recovery tool. The homepage is at http://www.gnu.org/software/ddrescue/ddrescue.html. The sources can be dowloaded from http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/ddrescue/ or from your favorite GNU mirror. The md5sum is: 0acd5df3f860eba20c01f317b40b8516 ddrescue-1.0.tar.bz2 This release is also GPG signed. You can download the signature by appending ".sig" to the URL. Changes in version 1.0: * A new logfile format makes multi-part rescue possible. * The logfile is saved to disc every 30 seconds. So in case of a crash you can resume the rescue with little recopying. * The logfile is now also saved in case of write error on the outfile. * A race condition that could result in data not written to outfile but annotated in logfile if computer crashes at the wrong moment has been fixed. * The GPL has been updated to version 2.3. Please send bug reports and suggestions to <bug-ddrescue@gnu.org>. Regards, Antonio Diaz, GNU ddrescue author and maintainer. _______________________________________________ GNU Announcement mailing list <info-gnu@gnu.org> http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/info-gnu
