We are happy to announce that the GNU Archimedes release 0.0.2 is ready!
It is a 2D Monte Carlo simulator which can take into account all the relevant quantum effects by means of Bohm effective potential. The description of the device is very general and made by means of a simple script language. At the present release GNU/Archimedes is now able to simulate electron-dynamics in GaAs sub-micron devices, which is a material relevant in microelectronics industry. You can, also, find on-line some examples related to Silicon devices. Everything (Archimedes package and examples) is available from http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/archimedes/ [via http] and ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/archimedes/ [via FTP], and from the GNU mirrors (list at http://www.gnu.org/prep/ftp.html). The web page is http://www.gnu.org/software/archimedes.
