I have already done this, but I was wondering if there is a way to tell cyrus not to log at such a high level, such as the sendmail LogLevel directive.
I was wondering if it would save any system resources to not even produce these type of debug messages.

Is there a way to control the loglevel that cyrus imapd uses?
I want to get it to stop logging debug messages altogether.

You have to configure your syslog daemon the right way. Given that you
are using the syslogd a possible syslog.conf line looks then like:

local6.info;local6.!debug /var/log/cyruslog
