He'll probably have the same problem with sieveshell, at least I do:
$ sieveshell localhost
connecting to localhost

it seems that sieve_get_handle, in the line just before line 149 doesn't work:
my $obj = sieve_get_handle($acapserver,
"prompt", "prompt", "prompt", "prompt");
and the same happens with installsieve
