Dear Colleagues, The Helmuth von Glasenapp-Stiftung (Helmuth von Glasenapp Foundation) would like to draw attention to its research award, which is presented at irregular intervals, but no more than once a year, for methodologically outstanding work that significantly contributes to answering open research questions in the field of Indology. The prize is awarded for studies that adopt a philological and cultural approach.
The jury consists of the members of the Board of Directors of the Helmuth von Glasenapp-Stiftung. There are no restrictions on participation; only members of the Executive Board and Board of Directors of the Helmuth von Glasenapp-Stiftung are excluded. Works submitted for the award must not exceed the standard length of scholarly essays and should be significantly shorter than monographic treatises. Works that have already been published or accepted for publication are not eligible for the award. The prize is set at € 3,000. Any publication costs that may be required can be covered by the Foundation upon request. Applications must be submitted informally by email in electronic form by mid-February of each fiscal year, including the manuscript in a modern format (.docx, .rtf, .odt, .tex) and simultaneously as a PDF.
