Dear Patrick et al,

On a Mac using the Devanagari QWERTY layout, one trick to get the long vocalic
r glyphs is to do the following:

1. switch to the Devanagari QWERTY keyboard
2. press and HOLD Option+r (which would ordinarily give you the regular short
vocalic r
3. a popup menu should appear, with two options, either ऋ or ॄ.
4. If you then type “1”, you can use the full long vocalic ṝ, or if you
press “2", you will be able to use the vowel marker.

Hope that helps! I am using macos 11.7.10, so presumably newer versions also
have this feature!

with best wishes,
Adheesh
