Dear Patrick et al, On a Mac using the Devanagari QWERTY layout, one trick to get the long vocalic r glyphs is to do the following:
1. switch to the Devanagari QWERTY keyboard 2. press and HOLD Option+r (which would ordinarily give you the regular short vocalic r 3. a popup menu should appear, with two options, either ऋ or ॄ. 4. If you then type “1”, you can use the full long vocalic ṝ, or if you press “2", you will be able to use the vowel marker. Hope that helps! I am using macos 11.7.10, so presumably newer versions also have this feature! with best wishes, Adheesh — Adheesh Sathaye University of British Columbia > On Oct 13, 2025, at 20:33, Hock, Hans Henrich via INDOLOGY > <[email protected]> wrote: > > I have the same problem. > > Hans Henrich > >> On Oct 13, 2025, at 22:13, Patrick Olivelle via INDOLOGY >> <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> Dear All: >> >> I am using Devanagari-QWERTY keyboard with Sanskrit2003 font on a Macbook.
