I am not sure whether this is the same nyāya as the one you cite, but Jacob’s “A Third Handful of Popular Maxims” on p. 87 gives a simile: śibikodyacchannaravat, and cites Nyāyamañjarī p. 397, line 12, and 400 line 11 from bottom; as also Ślokavārtika p. 529, verse 73.
