Thanks for the notice. Yes, we are well aware of the ramifications and
the issue will definitely be release noted.
Although it's important to note that those upgrading using the /release
repository instead of the /dev repository are less likely to experience
the same issues. Memory usage right now is partially a function of the
size of the repository you're using for each publisher.
So if you can't upgrade using the /dev repository now, wait until 2010.x
is put into the /release repository and upgrade using that one instead.
