Hi all. Suddenly and without warning, I found myself at the console. :-/
I see no indication of anything going awry in /var/adm/messages or in the various logs in /var/log. However, /var/log/gdm/:0.log.3 was modified at a time coinciding with the crash and ends with: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (EE) Dynamic loader error: ld.so.1: Xorg: fatal: invalid handle: 0x0 Backtrace: 0: /usr/bin/amd64/Xorg (xorg_backtrace+0x2a) [4b6f2a] 1: /usr/bin/amd64/Xorg (OsSigHandler+0x52) [4bc772] 2: /lib/amd64/libc.so.1 (__sighndlr+0x6) [fffffd7fff2e4ee6] 3: /lib/amd64/libc.so.1 (call_user_handler+0x2a7) [fffffd7fff2d7c4f] 4: /usr/X11/lib/modules/drivers/amd64/nvidia_drv.so (_nv000730X+0x5d38) [fffffd7ffbabb7c8] Segmentation Fault at address 30 Fatal server error: Caught signal 11 (Segmentation Fault). Server aborting ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I assume that's what brought my desktop down.(??) If so, any idea how I might have managed this? I'm using build 132, nvidia driver 195.30, and have a GeForce 8600 GT (dual-head, twin view). Compiz is enabled. If memory serves me, at the time I was using: * Pidgin (active app) * VirtualBox * Firefox * Evolution * Rhythmbox * SecondLife * gnome-terminal * Emacs Thanks! Take care. --joanie _______________________________________________ indiana-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/indiana-discuss
