Sun was a very large company (and is now a wholly owned subsidiary of
a much larger company) - many times things happened that weren't coordinated
across the product groups, so I wouldn't read anything more into that
than someone in a different product group was trying to sell their
hardware or software and didn't spend as much time as they could have
working with other teams to highlight all related Sun products - they may
even have purposely done so to avoid appearing to make too strong a push
until they were already in the door with their product at which point
they could point out "Now that you have Product A, it would get even
better if you added Product B that works especially well here."
