Did you restart your X server after doing the unlink/ln work-around? I ran
into the same bug, and needed to `pkill Xorg` after that before things worked
properly (though `svcadm restart gdm` would work just as well I think).

Thanks for the reply. Yes I restarted the X server in the form of a
reboot. I think it goes a little deeper, as my Xorg.0.log shows it's
still loading the mesa library. I just posted the output of Xorg.0.log
minutes before this one.
