I can then use the right Ctrl-t (or any key), but still can't use the
left one.  I shut down both VirtualBox and my VM and restarted just to
be sure that something wasn't cached on startup.  I could probably
live with the right only ctrl for Firefox but Emacs will sure feel
quite a bit different.
