Where do you see that the bug won't be fixed until next year?  If you're
referring to the target milestone set as 2010.1h that's merely so we can
track what we would like to include in the first release of OpenSolaris
in 2010.  The fix is very likely (though this isn't a guarantee) to show
up in the dev releases before 2010.02 ships.
