Why is it that people want to focus on dead (as a parrot) hardware? Seriously? Leave the old desktop iron to NetBSD and the like. Pining for OpenSolaris on your SS20 with leo graphics and prestoserv is about as useful to the wider world as demanding your spoken interactions be in Esperanto.
Speaking of bloat, wouldn't supporting hardware that has one rack ear in the trash bin be a non-trivial contributor of such?
