Graphics capability not absolutely necessary if virtual consoles works on that platform (I haven't tried). I do use direct graphics for the desktop, but virtual consoles would probably be a suitable replacement. Honestly, though, if there isn't feature parity between the two platforms, I'll probably just wait.
