This is the exact error I was getting, and this thread provided the answer.
To remove DTT I just looked up DTrace on pkg.opensolaris.org to get the name, then did: "pfexec pkg uninstall SUNWDTraceToolkit" (...yes, still learning the pkg command-line options...) Then it wanted to keep DTT since slim-install depended on it, but I removed that and went back to remove DTrace.
