Cool Rob... yes I had the same two issues, my only change was the upgrade to the build 93 packages, and svcs -a doesn't enumerate x11-server as a service.
It seems the SBD defaults for the X server (Secure by default) are re-enabled during the import of new svs manifests after the snv_93 pkgs are installed. "svccfg list" will get you a list of the configurable SMF service entities, (first time I'd used this too), one of which is.. application/x11/x11-server svccfg -s x11-server listprop will get you a list of toys to potentially play with.
