Hi Dennis,

here is a comment to your question posted to me by Ken Frank:

I think getting the lang-extra pkg for that locale is needed;
ie SUNWenlang-extra, which has the en_CA* in it.

in package manager, search for "lang" and it lists the lang pkgs
and also which installed or not, and which available.

there might be other fonts pkgs needed for locale related things, if not
installed, in general
(not talking about en here) such as fonts that might not come with the lang pkg
- search using "font" almost works
but also are the ones with ttf in the name but not the word font;
it depends on what pkgs were installed as part of basic install and if
the all langs live cd/dvd was gotten, I think.

(am not talking about localized msgs/docs here)

discussion below is really interesting as to limited size of live cd/dvd
and user model of needing to get pkgs from pkg server,
and what people feel should be part of the live cd/dvd without
users needing to get additional pkgs.

for example, live cd installs the jre, but not the full jdk, yet it is needed
to run some other provided applications like netbeans - and I believe also
its not part of live cd/dvd due to the limited size of live cd/dvd , thus the
additional jdk pkg needs to be obtained from pkg server.
