No. I use more or less default configuration.
Maybe if those values are stored in the DB they survived my upgrade
from horde3/imp4 - I did not purge the DB. But the conf.php files are
pure new.
Btw. where these are configured? How could I enable/disable it. I

Autocomplete might not be active if you have not setup your addressbook
(turba).

Spellchecking is configured in Horde's config.
You are right, it was disabled. But it was disabled by default. File
conf.php.dist do not even mention this setting.
So I don't think my config is extremely unlikely... :-)
