Quoting Arjen de Korte <arjen+ho...@de-korte.org>:

When in a mail folder, the contents are refreshed automatically, so new mails will be shown without user intervention. When in the Virtual Inbox, the contents are only refreshed when the refresh button near the right edge is pressed. Is it possible to refresh it automatically, like ordinary mail folders?

No.

It is quite confusing that the refresh button that refreshes the message list in all other folders, doesn't work in the Virtual Inbox.

Just the opposite. If the Virtual Folder (or any other folder) starts randomly refreshing, users start seeing messages they are reading disappear (since they are no longer "unseen" so they don't exist in the refresh). And people do things like work with multiple e-mails at the same time (i.e. a thread), so they may still want to refer back to a message they just opened. There was all sorts of negative feedback to this behavior until it was changed several years again. Quite honestly, you are the first person to ever feel the other way -- at least that I can recall.
