Thank you - I've done it and I try to save a preference that's having the issue, for example, Preferences for Mail > Sent Mail I click the box to "Rename sent mail mailbox at beginning of month?" and I click "save". immediately the checkbox becomes unchecked. I only see the following in the debug log: May 22 21:46:26 server dovecot: imap-login: Login: user=<j...@example.com>, method=PLAIN, rip=127.0.0.1, lip=127.0.0.1, mpid=11980, TLS, session= <oD5yXVvdTQB/ABAB> May 22 21:46:26 server dovecot: imap(j...@example.com): Disconnected: Logged out in=26 out=396 and I notice that there's no green / red pop up message to tell me if the save succeeded or failed, as happens on most of the prefs pages.
