Does horde have a way of feature requesting and contributing by
undertermined people? For example, you open a ticket and then,
after approval, people (interested in that feature) could start
"funding" that ticket, so developers could get the deserved
compensation for implementing the feature. Maybe one person alone
could not/would not sponsor a feature request, but several
persons/companies could/would and that way everybody can
benefit.
Not anymore. We used to have bounties but have dropped because
them because they haven't been a great success in the long term.
I remember the bounties. If I understood them correctly, it was like this:

- - people gave funds as a reward for feature X
- - 3rd party people were encouraged to implement feature X and show the
implementation to the core horde group (before Horde LLC existed).
- - Horde Core would decide if the feature was properly implemented and
pay out the reward.

Now people can ask Horde LLC for an estimate/price tag for feature X
and it's their business to provide the funding. Nothing stops a group
of interested parties from asking for an estimate of the project and
then team up by whatever means to allocate the funds needed.

Sure. This is a good idea. I'll try to contact interested people and see if this crowdfunding can work.
