Signature switching code was a mess to maintain (especially
cross-browser and w/the HTML editor), was unreliable, and could easily
be confused causing badly formatted emails to be sent out (adding a
character within the signature block could potentially cause issues
when switching to a new signature). It only makes sense to maintain
the code if the benefit outweighs the hassle/problems coming from the
code itself. In this case, this isn't even a remotely close call.
As previously mentioned, there are viable (more correct) methods if
you want to either edit your signature or switch your signatures.
Feel free to argue all you want (discussion is good), but understand
this is never coming back into IMP.
Is it possible to expect at least the signature being shown (in a
read only box for ex.)
in the end of the compose window, so the user knows what will be the
final text?
This may be an option.
