I realize that this was an IMP 4.0.x -> 4.1.x change, and isn't new with IMP 4.2. We're getting a lot of angry / confused feedback regarding the change from IMP 4.0's combination of an "Attach" button + an "Update attachment information" link.
IMP > 4.1 has removed both in favor of a single "Update" button. The placement of the "Update" button doesn't make it's clear that you should use it /both/ to upload an attachment /and/ to effect change under the "Current Attachments" section. I might argue that the former "Attach" / "Update attachment information" combination was clearer for users. I've attached a message from one of our users.. Liam -------------------------------------------- Regarding the updates to webmail: Since the recent changes to webmail, I have not been able to receive attachments from my faculty colleagues who use it (I do not; I have always regarded it as a poorly designed application). After this problem slowed and impeded our departmental work, I finally went to webmail myself to experiment with the new attachment function. I also looked up the info on the upgrade. I think I now understand the problem: you changed the name of the "attach" button to "update"! What in the world were you thinking? I saw "update" and thought it referred to information relating the recent changes in webmail. The word "update" means "to incorporate changes in order to bring something up to date." It is not a synomym for "attach" or "upload." Literacy should be required for the personnel in charge of web design for the university. I suggest that you change it back to "attach." -- IMP mailing list - Join the hunt: http://horde.org/bounties/#imp Frequently Asked Questions: http://horde.org/faq/ To unsubscribe, mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
