And the students don't ask themselves how Google makes money from this? Maybe the expectation of online privacy is now an antique notion. Maybe the idea of Google using their email content to "target" them (ouch) to advertisers no longer raises issues. Kids have been dealing with this abusive behavior for so long that maybe colleges should be publicizing what we think is obvious-- that we don't data-mine their mail or track where they go on the web.
