Dear all,

I use Mandrake 9.0. Most probably I login in text mode instead of graphical one.

My question is that while logging in text mode we come across our login screen which looks like :

Mandraka Linux 9.0  xxxxxxx
Kernel xxxxxxxx
login :

I wish to design this screen on my own which I can by altering Issue file in /etc directory. When I alter this file and save it and then come on login screen by pressing Ctrl+D, I get my altered screen. But when I restart my computer next time, I find that my altered screen has gone and the aforesaid Mandrake screen is there. Later I observed that there is a Issue.net file in /etc whose contents overwrite my designed screen. Even I deleted the issue.net file to overcome this problem. But when I reboot my computer, it is generated automatically next time. I tried to find the source form where it is generated ie. issue.net by trying find command, but of no avail. If there anyone who can tell me from where this issue.net file is generated to solve this problem. Pl. guide and oblige.

Regards,
Malkiat
