We  would like to  inform you  about a  5-day course  on
 "Intelligent Information Retrieval: Search Engines and Beyond" 
to be held at NCST from April 21-25.

Intelligent Information Retrieval  (IIR) is a multi-disciplinary field
that  brings  together ideas  from  Information Retrieval,  Artificial
Intelligence,  and Natural Language  Processing, and  the technologies
emerging  from this field  are becoming  increasingly crucial  for the
knowledge-based society of today and tomorrow.

The focus of this short-term course will be to help the candidates
build practical tools to manage text documents in an efficient
manner. The course will explore concepts and tools for performing
tasks such as  
  - searching and retrieving relevant information from large of documents
  - automatically filtering and routing messages and news items
  - automatically grouping and categorizing documents
  - creating summaries of long documents
