Interesting question.  This has come up earlier too on some mailing
lists I've been subscribed to.

By default the articles are copyright of the original author.
However, I have no clue what the default license is.  My rule of thumb
is to treat all messages as being licensed under something like the
GPL: I can use them in another context as long as I give credit to the
original author and don't make them proprietary.

Of course, you can always assign a specific license to your own
messages.  However It'd be a bit painful to suffix each and every
message with `You can copy this message under the terms of the X
license'.

FWIW, you are free to use all my original content on the list under
the terms of the GPL or the FDL.
