XFree86 4.3 was released long time back (27th Feb). get pre-compiled binaries at the following URL ftp://ftp.xfree86.org/pub/XFree86/4.3.0/binaries don't know if redhat 8 requires glibc22 or glibc23 binaries, or it doesn't make a difference at all as they're pre-compiled (??). also check http://www.rpmfind.net if there are any xfree86 4.3 rpms for redhat 8.0, though not sure about that. if yu're not comfortable in extracting and replacing your entire default X installation, and thereby loosing some of the distribution specific settings, it'd be advisable to wait for RHL 8.1/Mandrake 9.1, both of which will be coming anytime, maybe in the next 2-3 weeks. Suse 8.2 is out already, and i believe it includes xfree86 4.3, not sure though. -- \|||/ (o o) --------------------------------ooO-----(_)-Ooo- | vivek | GPG Key: | | [EMAIL PROTECTED] | http://exain.net/vike | |------------------------------------------------| | Registered Linux User: #305493 | ------------------------------------------------ ( _ ) _| | | |_ (___| |___) ================================================ To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe in subject header.
