You should be using Windows 2000 or XP with a WDM driver to get the best performence from your TV tuner card. Older VFW drivers that work under Win9x are quite bad (although 98 should support WDM drivers too). Get 3rd party drivers that i listed on my prev mail. They are free, and they do improve performence! Another thing is that I keep on seeing a lot of slashdot articles about the improvements being made to the scheduler in the current linux development kernel, and how it affects interactive applications. Most people seem to have problems playing mp3 files when the system is under heavy load. Doesn't this affect realtime video apps under Linux?
