Red hat 7.2 comes with squid that is a proxy server. If you don't find it
installed, then install it from the red hat cds. The Linux kernel has a
firewall that is built into it.

In most cases, setting up RH as a firewall/gateway is a matter of
configuring the Kernel firewall and squid. Search the net for the firewall
howto. Last time I read it, i learned a lot about firewalls on Linux using
the then current 2.2.x series Linux kernel. The newer 2.4 kernel has a much
improved firewall, but the basics remain same! I suppose the howto has been
updated now!
