BlankLinux kernel has ip forwarding/routing built in. You might wan't to check out the firewall-howto and ip-masquerading howto on the net. These will get you thru the basics of setting up the routing tables on a linux box to act as a internet gateway. Since you know cisco and routing, you will basically just need to learn new commands to do things. There are a lot of things that can be done easily using cisco, but can be tricky under linux! Ambar
----- Original Message ----- I am facing a problem regarding my Router (CISCO). Due to the ISP change, its no longer in use. I want to configure my a Red Hat Linux server to act as a router to my internet, in which i can control my bandwidth to the users and also restrict some of the users to go to the internet. I am a Cisco engineer & the IOS of Cisco routers are very easy for doing the same, but I haven't configured a Linux Server as a router to the Internet. Can anyone tell me or give me some document for how to configure a Linux server to act as a router and also if there are any software which has a functionality as a Cisco IOS. ================================================ To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe in subject header.
