hi,
I don't think that there is any need to fear in this situation it simple you just 
reinstall the gcc by uninstalling it first or just upgrade the gcc with the newer one 
if you had some older version.
if normal option is not working then install it forcibly in case you have rpm. if the 
problem still resist then just uninstall the old rpm first.
