if you guys have time, drop in at the linux workshop at hamdard university, 
for a hands-on demo, hopefully.

for total linux newbies, i often recommend getting hold of a decent refernce 
book, a linux bible or something, so 90% of your questions are answered 
without having to even log on to the net and browse, google-search, and post 
queries. the remaining 10% can be handled this way. makes it more convenient.

besides, the books don't cost much, and offer quite a wealth of information.
