Hello, I was recently showing off my finely tweaked KDE3 desktop to my dad, who's a windows user, and generally managed to convince him that linux is as good, if not better, than 'his' windows. One place where i got stuck was when he asked about accounting. I showed him GNUCash, which is quite impressive as such, but that is maybe coz i dont use accounting software, so anything will look impressive to me. But he was not quite impressed and invariably compared it to his all time favourite -- Tally. Now i know, tally has lots of features n all, but then GNUCash has its own advantages, and has some additional features as well, like generating charts etc, predefined set of common accounts (i have no idea abt what they were), and some more things too.
I would like to know if anyone has shifted from tally to GNUCash. Also, if there's any tool that'll convert tally's database to either GNUCash format or into the importable QIF. If there's some way of getting the tally data onto gnucash, or any other comparable software, i can safely install linux on my dad's laptop, and have another convert :) regards, Gami ================================================ To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe in subject header.
